Hazardous Waste Days usually take place every August. Please visit the website next year when a date is set.
Every year on May 1st, the municipality reloads transfer station cards with 60 garbage bags per residence. This allocation is only provided to properties with a dwelling or vacant land that has a proper entrance and a registered 911/civic address. When residents bring garbage to the transfer station, $2 is deducted from the card for each bag disposed of. If a resident uses all 60 bags before the end of the year, additional bags can be purchased and added to the card. However, the card cannot be used to dispose of construction materials or similar waste.
Please note: The card is permanent, meaning residents will not receive a new card annually. If a card is misplaced, residents should notify the office as soon as possible so the card can be deactivated. A replacement card costs $10.
For properties with multiple owners listed on the title, an additional card can be purchased for $10 and the bag allotment can then be split among multiple cards.
