Fire Rating and Permit Information

 

Important Notes: 

  • Daytime burning is only permitted between November 1st - March 31st.
  • Setting off fireworks and sky lanterns is not allowed in Kearney and is strictly prohibited. See By-Law 2018-24 for more information.
  • The size of fire is restricted to 2 feet x 2 feet. Residents must be in attendance when burning, do not leave fire unattended!
     

Fire Permits – Required from April 1st to October 31st

The Town of Kearney requires that all property owners and camping visitors obtain a fire permit before proceeding with any outdoor fires regardless of whether you are burning at home, or at a designated campground. Anyone burning without a permit may be subject to fines.

Three day permits can be obtained at the following locations:

Fetterley’s Garage
1770 Highway 518 East, Kearney

Kearney General Store
98 Main St., Kearney

Rickward’s Small Motors Inc.
1914 Hwy 518, Kearney

Full-season & special permits can only be obtained at the Fire Hall.
