The Kearney Dog Sled Races are returning February 7th–8th, and the Town of Kearney is officially gearing up for this incredible community tradition. This event brings meaningful cultural and economic benefits to our town, and we are excited to welcome racers, visitors, and families for an unforgettable weekend.
To support a safe and successful event, please note the following temporary changes:
🚧 Transfer Station Closure
- The King William Transfer Station will be closed February 7th & 8th, 2026.
- The Kallio/Sand Lake Transfer Station will remain open both days from 8:00am – 12:30pm and 1:00pm-4:00pm
🚧 Road Closures
- A portion of Patton Rd, from the intersection of Park Rd to King William St, will be closed February 6th–8th for race operations.
- The shoulder of Park Rd, from Patton Rd to the end, will be used as part of the Dog Sled Trail throughout the event.
