TAKE NOTICE that the Council of The Corporation of the Town of Kearney (the “Town”) intends to pass a bylaw to close part of the original shore road allowance lying in front of Lot 5, Concession 8 Geographic Township of Bethune; Town of Kearney, more particularly described in Schedule “A” hereto (the “Lands”) and to authorize the sale of the Lands.
THE CLOSURE shall be made pursuant to Section 34 of the Municipal Act, 2001 and the sale in accordance with Sections 8 and 9 of the said Municipal Act.
ANY PERSON wishing to comment on the proposed sale may submit comments in writing by 4:30 p.m. on the 4th day of February, 2026 to the Clerk of the Town at the address set out below. Also at the Council meeting Council will hear electronically any person or counsel/solicitor or agent who claims that his/her land will be prejudicially affected by the by-law and who applies to be heard. Please contact the Clerk for more information as to how a person may attend the meeting electronically.
THE COUNCIL of the Town will give consideration to all submissions received in writing or made at the Council meeting and will then determine whether or not to proceed with the passage of the said by-law. THE SAID by-law will come before Council for consideration at the Council meeting to be held at 6:00 p.m. on the 5th day of February, 2026, in the Council Chambers at 8 Main Street, Kearney, Ontario.
