FIRE RATING: HIGH
The Town of Kearney fire rating is HIGH as of July 14, 2026.
Important Restrictions:
● No recreational campfires.
● Campfires are permitted only for essential cooking and warmth.
● No daytime burning (burning only allowed 6:00 pm. - 10:00 am.).
● Fire permits are not issued and existing permits are void during a HIGH fire rating.
● Keep an extinguishing method and shovel nearby.
● Fireworks are prohibited (By-law 2018/24).
● BBQs and gas stoves are permitted.
Use extreme caution with all open flames. Campfires, where allowed, must be in a rock or metal-ring pit no larger than 2 ft (60 cm) in diameter.
Dry forest conditions mean fires can start easily and spread rapidly. Failure to comply with fire regulations may result in penalties.
Report unattended campfires or wildland fires: Call 911.
