The Town of Kearney is excited to announce the winning name of last month's NAME THIS SPACE! Contest!
Congratulations to Judythe Goyea, whose thoughtful submission inspired the name "Mayhew Square" for our newly revitalized community space at 74 Main Street! The name pays tribute to Kearney's rich history, honouring Art Mayhew's Store and Ryan's Hall, which once stood at this location in the early 1900s.
Congratulations, Judythe!
A huge THANK YOU to everyone who participated and shared their creative ideas! We're thrilled to give this space a name that celebrates our community's past while looking forward to its future.
Do you have old photographs, documents or stories about the history of this space? We'd love to see them! We invite community members to share their historical treasures about Mayhew's Store, Ryan's Hall and other establishments that once stood on this space by submitting them to our Google Drive folder at: www.townofkearney.ca/mayhew-square
Together, we can help preserve the history of Mayhew Square for generations to come!
