The Town of Kearney Council and Staff have been working diligently over that last 8 months in gaining public input on an updated Strategic Plan to hear what the Public wants the Town of Kearney to focus on in the coming years. We are excited to announce the new Strategic Plan for 2026-2030 is now complete and can be viewed here.
Strategic Plan 2019-2025
Strategic planning is a municipality’s process of defining its strategy, or direction, and making decisions on allocating its resources to pursue it's vision. Strategy has many definitions, but generally involves setting goals, determining actions to achieve the goals, and mobilizing resources to execute the actions. In other words, a strategic plan simply provides the means for a municipality to chart a future it desires rather than reacting to events as they unfold.
Official Plan
The Municipality's Official Plan is a blueprint for the Municipality. It guides all of the Town of Kearney's planning decisions - all development must conform with the Plan.
